Denmark

Denmark will be a quick stop over before we head to Norway. I have heard from many people who have traveled to Copenhagen that Tivoli Gardens is an absolute must. Our time in Copenhagen for two days will mostly be centered around Tivoli Gardens and exploring the harbor. I got a great recommendation from my friend of a great Circus Themed restaurant Pinco Nation that the boys will love, we have made reservations for our 1st night in Copenhagen.

After our time in in Copenhagen we will be making our way to Northern Denmark where we will be boarding a boat that will take us directly to Bergen.

Mini Road Trip

From Copenhagen we will drive to central Denmark to visit Mønsted Kalkgruber in Stoholm, Denmark. The Mønsted Kalkgruber the world’s largest limestone mine.

“Mønsted Kalkgruber is the world’s largest limestone mine. An endless maze of underground paths that stretches for 60 km and up to six floors in height. Some of the caverns are as large as cathedrals while others are so narrow that a grown man couldn’t walk through them upright. In other words, the limestone underlying this region, beneath Mønsted in Denmark, is riddled with the biggest chambers, widest tunnels, and most mind-blowing voids anywhere in Europe.”

After our visit to Mønsted Kalkgruber we will make our way north about an hour to check in for the night at our Hotel/ Hostel. We are spending the night in town of Skørping, Denmark. I am was excited to find this spot not only the price was amazing ($120 a night with 4x beds and private bathroom) but I am looking forward to the interaction with others staying at the Hostel. I am sure the boys will be excited since there will be bunk beds.

The next morning we will make our way north to our ending location of Hirtshal Denmark Port. Since we the morning free I wanted to get the boys some wiggles out at the beach. We will drive about an hour to the Costal Town of Løkken, Denmark. This town looks absolutely amazing and they have a iconic lighthouse that I know Chad is excited to check out!

Heading to Bergen via Boat!

We will be taking the Fjord Line and we will spend 24 hours aboard while we make our way to Bergen. We have a cabin reserved and boat has multiple restaurants and even a little grocery store. Our Cabin looks very cozy but we have all the nessisatices bed and bathroom. The boys will be exited because the bunk beds pull down from the ceiling so they will get a great view to the port window. I found it ironic that there is a Starbucks Café on Board!
