Norway

This will be our longest stretch in one spot during out travels. We will be spending 3x weeks in Bergen, Norway and end our trip in Oslo before we fly home.

Bergen is Known as ‘the city of Seven Mountains’, Bergen is at the center of a huge number of scenic hiking trails and walks.

During our time in Norway I am trying my best to not over plan and be in the moment.

We have booked an amazing townhouse overlooking Bergen the area of (Fjellsiden) It is a residential area, with beautiful wooden houses and great views. The home is extremely kid friendly so I know the boys will make the most of our time during our stay.

The popular Fjellveien is just below the house. The views are absolutely breathtaking from the kitchen!

We picked this house for many reasons but the top 2x reasons are the amazing view and it’s a short walk to downtown life. Our family will definitely be getting our steps in considering the home is on the top of a very steep hill. 😬

During our time in Bergen we are going to explore the Fjords as much as possible. We are very lucky to be walking distance to the major attractions, Bergen Aquarium, Historic Downtown, The Hanseatic wharf , Parks , Tram and many hiking trails!

I joined a Facebook group “Americans in Bergen” and I was able to get some great ideas for local activities with the boys. There is a local Library that has some meet up activities for families. I also connected with a women we may have babysit the boys so Chad and I get a few date nights! We plan on meeting her at a park our first week and then we will go from there, but our communication has gone really well and this women has amazing references. Talk about small world she has been living in Bergen for 13 years as a Preschool Teacher and she is originally from Tacoma, Wa!

Iconic Bergen Line Railway

To wrap up our trip we will be taking the Historic Bergen Line from Bergen to Oslo.

The Bergen Railway is a seven-hour trip between Oslo and Bergen that’s been voted one of the world’s most beautiful train journeys. We have booked seats in the family car that includes a mini play gym with TV and games.
