Scotland Road Trip

During out time in Edinburgh we will be taking a 3x day road trip mid visit to Central and the Eastern Coast. Chad will be checking off a bucket list item, driving a manual on the opposite side of the road! We will be leaving on Friday 7.7 and our first stop will be Blackness Castle make our way to the Highland Museum. We will continue north to the Cairngorms National Park. We will be staying the night at ‘Highest Hostel in the Scottish Highlands’. Located in the picturesque village of Tomintoul.

We will also be checking out a Reindeer Farm as we back our way to the Eastern Coast. On our way to Aberdeen, we will make a stop at Grampian Transport Museum. Located in the historic village of Alford, just 45 minutes from Aberdeen, the Grampian Transport Museum boasts an impressive range of transport exhibits, from travelling chariots of the 1800’s, to some of the fastest cars ever made.

Aberdeen

Aberdeen is a city in North East Scotland, and is the third most populous city in the country. We picked this city for a few reasons we really wanted to check out the coastline and also after much research we found it to be very Family Friendly.

We will be visiting Dunnottar Castle, in Stonehaven I am most excited to see in person. The castle sits on top of a remote cliff edge and its surrounded by the North Sea.

St. Andrews

We plan to wrap up our road trip by stopping at St. Andrews and exploring the town and walking a bit of the course. On Sunday the course is open to visitors!
